Democratic Candidate for Lieutenant Governor

Serving her 3rd term as a Chester County Commissioner, Cozzone has been Vice Chair of the Commission since 2011. She has also served as a Board member with the Chester County Industrial Development Authority, where she helped launch an intensive program for the long-term unemployed. Cozzone is currently First Vice President of the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania (CCAP). She has also served on the CCAP’s Courts and Corrections Committee and its Behavioral Health Task Force, which aims to reduce the population of mentally ill inmates in county prisons. As Chair of the Chester County Prison Board, Cozzone promoted Women’s Re-Entry Assessment and Programming which helps women avoid re-imprisonment. As a member of the Joint State Government Task Force Advisory Committee, Cozzone has advocated for verifiable paper ballots and, as County Commissioner, she protected African American student voting by stopping a plan to move a polling place away from Lincoln University.

Gov. Wolf appointed Cozzone to chair the County Government Workgroup on the Pipeline Infrastructure Task Force, and says she would lobby in Harrisburg for pipeline transparency and safety. She also serves on the Statewide Geospatial Coordinating Board, which helps develop state policy for sharing data collected on land use and topographical features.

Cozzone earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the College of New Jersey in 1984 and spent more than 20 years working for financial management companies. She lives with her husband and teenage son in Uwchlan Township, Chester County.
