Dwayne Woodruff

This is the final appellate court in the state.  It is also the court that appoints the tie-breaking member of the state’s redistricting commission (the group that draws all the electoral district lines).  Democrats (finally) took control of this court in 2015, with 3 winning candidates.  Another win will mean 6 Democrats and 1 Republican on this powerful bench.

Dwayne Woodruff  has been a judge in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas since 2005, where he has presided primarily in the Family Court Division.  During his 12-season career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Woodruff attended law school and then practiced law while still playing in the NFL.   Read more on Woodruff
